Stephen Fry beats Cheryl Cole in 'most desirable Olympic host' poll

Stephen Fry has been named the person Britons would most like to stay with and watch the Olympic Games.

The comedian and TV personality beat Cheryl Cole and Kate Middleton into joint second place in the YouGov survey on behalf of Wimdu.co.uk.



Wimdu MD Karim Hardane said: "Wimdu is all about finding unique alternatives to traditional accommodation, and providing good hosts for our guests.

"We wanted to have a little fun and find out who the ultimate host for the Olympics would be in the UK.

"Stephen Fry certainly has all the qualities we look for in a host, so if he would like to get in touch, we will happily take the call."

Respondents said that Fry would offer "witty and intelligent" conversation, with one suggesting that he could "relieve them from the boredom of the Olympics" itself.
