Manchester in a day - video

It's grim up North... or so many southerners would have you believe.

Well, that was then, because these days the North of England is overflowing with cultural landmarks, stunning architecture and much more besides, as this video shows.



A still photographic artwork, Manchester in a day was filmed at the top of Piccadilly Place by Andy Marshall as a time-lapse piece.

A day in the life of the city is soundtracked by 'And then...' from Hilliat Fields.

Marshall told the Manchester Evening News: "I have always been fascinated by Manchester and the way it mixes old and new architecture.

"It is a vibrant city and the video shows how the veins of the city such as commuters on their way to work move throughout the day."
