Cat re-elected mayor of Alaskan town - video

Mayor Stubbs, a cat who has been in charge of Talkeetna, Alaska for 15 years, has recently celebrated his re-election.

The cat was elected mayor of the town shortly after he was born because voters did not think there were any other viable candidates, Reuters reports.



In his role as mayor, Stubbs has appeared in both local and national magazines and newspapers.

He also receives official correspondence in the form of letters and cards, and gets to drink from a special wine glass with his name on it.

A number of people from Talkeetna have expressed their satisfaction with their unusual mayor.

"He's not judgmental at all, he loves everybody!" claimed one resident.
