Flying turtle left traumatised after balloon stunt - video

A turtle was left traumatised after it was tied to a bunch of balloons and let go.

The creature flew through the air before finally getting tangled in a eucalyptus tree, Orange News reports.



Chantelle Wright spotted the turtle and balloons in the tree in Oceanside, California and called an animal welfare society.

A fire crew was called out but the wind blew the turtle down to the ground before they arrived.

Animal protection officials reacted with anger when they learned of the incident and have said that the person responsible could face animal cruelty charges if identified.

Wright has said that she will adopt the turtle if it isn't claimed.
