Demonstrators in the US led the way in protests against laws that forbid women from going topless in public.
GoTopless, the organisation that arranged the protests, asked female participants to go topless or wear red tape over their nipples while suggesting that men should don bikini tops in support.
The protest, which is now in its fifth year, raised questions about the inequality shown between men and women when it comes to bearing chests in public.
The organisation believes that these 'double standards' between men and women should not exist.
GoTopless leader Sharon Aziza said: "It's appalling that even female officials like the mayor of Asheville, North Carolina, are supporting the men who oppose topless gender equality."
