Venus, a feline from North Carolina with symmetrically divided black and ginger facial fur, has received over 40,000 likes on her dedicated Facebook page and recorded almost 1m views on YouTube in just a few days, reports Metro.
Her unusual markings, as well as her striking blue and green eyes, are a result of genetic mutation and have led to her being likened to Batman's infamous adversary Two-Face.
"We've heard everything from Photoshop to [people saying] we've dyed half of her face,' her owner Christina told the Today Show.
"This is just the way she was born, that's it. We have an orange tabby and a black tuxedo [cat] at home, so when I first saw her, I said, 'Oh my gosh, she looks like a combination of both our cats'.
"We didn't at that time see the eyes," she added, "so [my partner's] first reaction was, 'We do not need any more animals'. When we zoomed in on her eyes, we were just awestruck.
"I said [to him], 'We just have to have this cat!'"
Thanks to her new-found fame, Venus has apparently been tipped to feature in Lady GaGa's next music video.
"You're a star, Venus! Awesome!!!" one user wrote on her official Facebook page.
"What an absolutely gorgeous kitty!" added another. "I am so happy Venus found such a loving home with wonderful parents."
