"Giz a ring will y'pet": 'Call Me Maybe' sung in Geordie slang - video

Carly Rae Jepsen's summer anthem 'Call Me Maybe' has been covered yet again.

The latest version sees duo May Arcade perform an acoustic cover, replacing the usual lyrics with Geordie slang.



The new chorus features the lyrics: "Yeah, I just met ya like, and this is mental, but here's me number, so giz a ring will y'pet."

The video has been viewed nearly a million times since it was uploaded on YouTube last week.

'Call Me Maybe' has received a host of covers, remixes and alterations since it became one of the most successful singles of 2012.

The Cookie Monster sang a version earlier this year.
