Jimmy Kimmel has played an Apple-themed prank on members of the public

The late night show host managed to convince several people on the street that they had their hands on the newly-announced iPhone 5.

However, they were actually just using the current iPhone 4S.



One man says: "Oh, it's way better. Yeah, it's nice. That's definitely noticeably better."

Another adds: "Definitely a lot lighter than the last one. It's a lot faster as well."

Speaking about the standard dual-camera, another says: "Oh, it has a video, front and back? That's cool."

The iPhone 5 was announced by Apple at a San Francisco press conference last week.

Pre-orders for the latest model are said to have sold out after an hour in the US.

Analysts have predicted that the iPhone 5 will sell around six million units upon its launch on September 21.
