A court in the town of Fürstenfeldbruck had originally fined the elder man for attempted criminal assault last December, but an appeal filed against the verdict was heard on Monday.
The Local reports that while the 88-year-old admitted to pushing his son with a broom, he vehemently denied the charge of criminal assault, arguing that it was self-defence.
The man claimed to the court that his son had tried to "strangle" him.
The two men had shared a house in the village of Maisach, along with their two wives. The court heard that the couples quarrelled almost constantly.
Reports claim that Judge Michaela Welnhofer had to shout "Hello!" twice in order to stop the pair from arguing and get them to listen.
The 88-year-old eventually withdrew the appeal and agreed to pay the fine. The judge told both men: "I'd be ashamed of coming to court with this nonsense."
