The organisation, which represents the British pig industry, released a statement saying that the problem is "now unavoidable".
It continued: "New data shows the European Union pig herd is declining at a significant rate, and this is a trend that is being mirrored around the world.
"Pig farmers have been plunged into loss by high pig-feed costs, caused by the global failure of maize and soya harvests."
The NPA is currently running a 'Save Our Bacon' campaign, encouraging people to buy British pork and bacon to support British farmers and increase demand for the food.
Earlier this year, a man ordered a 2.7kg burger with 1,050 bacon strips.
It was also announced back in June that Burger King would launch a 'bacon sundae'.
