Liverpool designer Stuart Hughes has launched 100 18-carat gold editions of the new smartphone, expected to sell for £21,995 each.
The special handset takes several weeks to make, and comes with gold and diamond additions.
"This beautiful handset will take weeks of detailed intricate work to re-create the original chassis of the iPhone in solid gold, all of which was started and finished by hand," the designer said.
"There will be gold dressing for the rear section with the logo in solid gold with 53 flawless diamonds amounting to 1ct."
Hughes recently sold a special iPhone 4S Elite Gold for £6 million to an Australian businesswoman.
Apple's iPhone 5 shifted over 5 million devices over its first weekend on sale last month.
