Conducted by UK Bathrooms, the study polled 1,821 working people aged 16 and over, with 73% responding positively to the question, 'Do you ever poo at work?'
41% of people answered that they do so twice a week, with the average length on the toilet calculated at 7.3 minutes.
It was worked out from the results that the average Briton spends 11.3 hours per year pooing at work.
Matched with the average salary, a person will earn around £142.60 a year while on the toilet.
A spokesperson for UK Bathrooms commented: "Let's face it, 'doing your business' whilst at work is usually a source of embarrassment for most of us Brits, so we thought we'd do a study to blast open these taboos and look at the flip side of having a poo on the job - how much you earn whilst doing it!"
