A plane crash scene that was being shot for Chicago Fire has been mistakenly reported by news anchors.
A morning show on WGN-TV, a television station in Chicago, was interrupted as it reported 'breaking news' that there had been a major accident on a highway.
The two anchors - Larry Potash and Robin Baumgarten - eventually found out on air that the scene was part of an upcoming episode for the NBC drama, much to their annoyance.
Chicago Fire stars Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Charlie Barnett and Lauren German. It currently airs on Wednesdays.
It was recently announced that the show would receive a full first season.
