Leicestershire PC Joe Lloyd and police community support officer Jay Cooper promised to dress as Santa and his Christmas elf if their beat's Twitter account got 700 followers.
Leicestershire Police Chief Constable Simon Cole retweeted their request to his more than 3,000 followers, and they hit the target in November.
Their first job dressed as the festive pairing was handing out gifts to disabled children at a school in Oakham, Rutland.
PC Lloyd said: "It seemed like a fun way of increasing my number of followers.
"I think Jay was a little surprised to read on Twitter that he had to dress up as an elf but I knew he would rise to the challenge."
