A video of an eagle seemingly picking up a baby has been confirmed as a hoax.
A short clip released last night (December 18) showed a golden eagle swooping down and picking up a small child in a Canadian park.
The video has so far been watched over two million times on YouTube in under 24 hours, with many viewers debating its authenticity.
However, the clip has now been revealed as part of a project by students at the Montreal-based animation and design school Centre NAD.
The video was created by Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin at the school for their production simulation workshop class of the Bachelors degree in 3D Animation and Digital Design.
A press release stated that the child and eagle were created in 3D animation and placed into the film afterwards.
The production simulation workshop aims to produce such projects to industry standards, with other hoaxes by the class including a video of a penguin that had escaped the Montreal Biodôme.
