Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney named 'dream apocalypse companions'

Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney have been named as the favoured choice of companions for the end of the world, according to a new poll.

Inspired by the recent Steve Carell and Keira Knightley movie Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, movie-streaming service Blinkbox asked 2,000 people in the UK who they would most like to spend the apocalypse with.



Men opted for former Friends star Aniston, with Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz in second and third place respectively.

Women went for the 51-year-old Clooney, with Daniel Craig in second place and Brad Pitt third.

Ben Ayers from Blinkbox said: "Let's face it, if the world's going to end, we'd all like to go out with a bang, and a clinch with our favourite Hollywood star would certainly help to take the edge off things."



The survey also asked questions regarding the Mayan prophecy that has captured the imaginations of people around the world. According to the survey, 57% of the British public are aware of the prophecy, and 13% confessed to being worried about it.
