Hot air balloon wedding makes crash landing

A wedding ceremony that took place on a hot air balloon has had to make a crash landing.

The balloon made the landing in the back garden of a San Diego home.



Spokesperson Maurice Luque from the San Diego Fire and Rescue department said that one of the people on board suffered a minor back injury.

The newlyweds told KGTV that the huge gust happened just after they had said their vows, causing it to sway over to the Rancho Penasquitos neighbourhood.

Groom Jonathan said: "We kept missing landing spots. Next thing you know, we're descending and I'm thinking, 'How is he going to land here?' because there's no place to land. And of course he hit the fence, but we hit and we skidded and then we bounced."

The balloon was draped over a tree and part of the house when it landed but there was no known damage to the property.
