One pet cat could become a world record holder with a purr as loud as a Tube train.
Merlin's purrs have been been measured to purr at 100 decibels.
According to Orange News, mother-of-two Tracy Westwood - the cat's owner - said: "We've measured Merlin at peaks of 100 decibels but he can be louder than that.
"When I'm on the phone I often have people asking me what on earth the noise is."
Merlin is four times louder than the average cat. At 100 decibels, the volume is similar to that of a car horn 25 feet away.
