Lanes of the West Shore Bypass were closed after two lorries collided and spilled hundreds of gallons of fizzy drinks, reports the Reading Eagle.
According to police, one of the trucks was carrying two-litre bottles of beverages. The containers then broke, covering the road with the liquid.
Cold overnight temperatures resulted in the drinks freezing on the road's surface.
Traffic was detoured and a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation crew was sent to assist to clear the mess and de-ice the road.
The other lorry was carrying a haul of sweets.
