The show averaged just 700,000 viewers - a 2.8% share of the available audience - between 8pm and 9pm, down from the 1.8 million who saw its debut a day earlier.
The programme almost suffered the indignity of being overtaken by Sky One's Star Trek: Enterprise, which had 655,000.
The decline was not altogether unexpected as the show went head-to-head with EastEnders at 8pm (12.6m, 49.0%) and Coronation Street at 8.30pm (14.6m, 54.5%).
Elsewhere, Johnny Vaughan's new BBC Three show Live At Johnny's got off to a slow start with just 30,000 viewers (0.1% share) at 8pm.
