Back To Reality winner Hewitt arrested

Only days after winning Five's Back To Reality game show, Major James Hewitt, former lover of the Princess of Wales has been arrested after allegations from a photographer who claims to have been injured by Major Hewitt outside his South Kensington home at around midnight last night. He was reportedly freed after questioning about the incident.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a photographer in SW7 at approximately midnight. He was taken to a central London police station and the man has now been bailed pending further inquiries to a date next month."

Mr Hewitt had been steadily trying to rebuild his reputation which had been damaged when he tried to sell off his letters from Diana for £10 million, and his reality show success on Friday had been secured by telephone votes from the public. However, this coincided with renewed interest in Diana due to NBC's recent airing of secret tapes made by Diana about her marriage to Prince Charles, making Hewitt a prime target for the papparazzi.

The photographer allegedly suffered a minor head injury.
