'Amazing Race' switches nights in US

CBS is switching The Amazing Race from Tuesday nights at 10 to Wednesday nights at 8 in a bid to increase its family audience.

Although the move - effective from April 5 - opens the show up to more lucrative demographics, it also places it in the firing line of FOX's American Idol and NBC's Deal Or No Deal.

Rebroadcasts of CBS crime dramas and specials will fill Race's old home, beginning with CSI: Miami on April 4 and CSI on April 11.
