
The actress has insisted that her initial decision to join Soapstar Superstar was influenced by a desire to raise money for charity rather than hopes of recording an album.
"I don't want to release an album or have a music career - and I don't want to be the next Britney Spears," Tupele told The Mirror.
"I like singing but this isn't like The X Factor where it's the last chance for contestants and they give up their job to do it. It will be a good accomplishment but afterwards I'll be happy to go back to Corrie.
"I'm a little bit scared, but excited too. I'd love to win it, without a doubt. But I also want to raise money for my charity, the New Children's Hospital Appeal in Manchester. And this is a better way of doing it than sitting in a bath of baked beans."
