The ex-husband of Liza Minnelli revealed that, although he presents a confident public image, he is a much shyer person than people think.

He said: "I'm like two different people. When I'm on a stage I'm a certain character but when I go home I'm not this kind of person.

"I freaked this morning when I had to go out in front of a crowd and once, when I had a party in LA, I actually stayed in my room!"
