
The Irish compere refuted suggestions that the show, which will cast the lead role in a West End revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, has taken work away from trained musical theatre actors.
He told Heat: "Oh, I couldn't be more bored! How many roles are there in the West End? Only two have been cast by this process. So I don't think it's the end of everything.
"We've done the West End a favour. Andrew (Lloyd Webber)'s whole argument was that the West End wasn't sexy and young people weren't going to see shows, so this TV profile is good for everyone."
