The Big Brother 2 winner asked Davidson: "I've actually got to ask a question and I'm hoping you don't find it rude...I would just like to say to you, only because of what you've said, what would you have done if you had a gay son?
"What would you have done? Would you have been upset?"
The former Generation Game presenter replied: "What would I have done if I had a gay son? What? I wouldn't have done anything different to having an un-gay son. Why do you ask?"
Dowling commented: "Only because when we've had conversations you've always said people think you're homophobic."
Later, the reality TV show star added: "I'll be honest with you, you're probably the first person I've actually met in years, God's honest truth, that I actually thought was homophobic."
The TV comic responded: "I've have no problem with gay / black / white / whatever. What I do have problem with is someone telling me what I can and can't say. I think political correctness is pulling us all apart.
Closing the discussion, Dowling said: "Now you have said that I understand you a bit more."
