In 2006, Madonna decided to leave her home and two children in the Philippines and move to the UK in order to give her family a better life. Though she had been sending money home regularly, at the time of the auditions she had not seen her kids for six months.
"I have had to make this hard choice to leave my children behind so I can come here to make money or they would starve," Madonna told the judges. "If I do well in this competition it would be life changing - not just for me, but for my kids - and it could be the chance for us to be together. Now I am singing for my girls and their future."
The story quickly affected Amanda, who started to cry, and it wasn't long until Madonna joined her in shedding tears. Once both ladies had composed themselves, Madonna delivered a show-stopping rendition of Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You'.
Amanda said: "I know you were singing that song for your babies weren't you, and you do not need to worry because I think you are going to go such a long way in this show and you'll get that money to get your children on a plane to be with you, because you lady have talent."
Tune in to Britain's Got Talent on ITV1 at 8.05pm tonight to see if Madonna makes it through to the next stage of the competition.
