Two applicants get 'Apprentice' chop

Jenny Celerier and Jennifer Maguire have both been fired on this week's episode of The Apprentice.

In an extended boardroom showdown, Sir Alan Sugar threatened to fire all five members of the losing team but ended up picking Jenny and Jennifer for the chop.

The teams were told to used their bartering skills in Morocco for this week's challenge and were asked to buy ten specific items for the lowest price possible.

Team Renaissance, lead by Jennifer, spent £449.60 on the market stalls of Marrakech and also incurred two penalties, while Team Alpha were victorious, only paying £413.61 for their items.

An angry Sir Alan told the losing team: "I could make life very simple. It's the people who make the mistakes in buying the products that I could just point at, or I could point at the team leader.

"So if you're interested in remaining in this process you better open your mouth. I don't give a s***. I'll fire three of you; I'll fire the whole bloody five of you. It doesn't bother me at all."

He criticised the applicants for their lack of knowledge about kosher chicken, singling out Michael, who put on his application that he was a "good Jewish boy".

Sir Alan told Michael: "Is it right that you went to a Muslim halal butcher and he made a prayer over it? Are you having a laugh or what? I don't know why you didn't go the whole hog and find a Roman Catholic priest to take the butcher to confession."

Squabbles broke out in the boardroom between Alex, Claire and Jennifer, and Michael and Jenny, before Sir Alan decided to sack two applicants.

He told Jenny: "You know what? It seems to me that you hang on every word I say then turn it on your colleagues. No good. Sorry, same old story. Jenny you're fired. Goodbye."

When firing Jennifer he commented: "The other Jennifer went because she was a bit of a snake.

"I think she takes words from my mouth and turns it on people in this boardroom. The mistakes were made by people out of control. Jennifer, with regret, you're fired!"
