Donal MacIntyre has admitted to being a secret fan of reality TV before Dancing On Ice.

The investigative reporter confessed that he was a "covert" viewer of Big Brother, Masterchef and I'm A Celebrity....

"I love it all," said MacIntyre at last night's DS Reality TV Awards. "But I think I was quoted as saying 'Hang me and shoot me if I'm ever on a show with celebrity in the title'.

"However, my wife signed me up for Dancing On Ice against my wishes. She wanted my kids to see something that wasn't associated with guns, drug dealers and hitmen. So I surrended to sequins and said, 'You can put me in in pink, you can put me in diamonds and I'll work as hard as I can'."
