Graham Norton has questioned the BBC's decision to bring So You Think You Can Dance to the UK.
The TV host claimed that the format of the reality contest is almost identical to that of Strictly Dance Fever, which he fronted for BBC One in 2005 and 2006.
Norton told The Mirror: "I don't understand why they've bought that format from Nigel Lythgoe, when it was a rip-off, sorry, inspired by the Beeb's Strictly Dance Fever.
"I mean, you're not reinventing the wheel, it's a dance competition at the end of the day, but it's odd for the BBC to buy it back when it was theirs in the first place."
The BBC announced last month that So You Think You Can Dance will air in the UK next year following its success in the US, Australia and other countries. Cat Deeley was recently confirmed to host the programme.
