Producers of Beauty And The Geek have come under fire after viewers accused contestant Corin Storkey of being a "fake".
Fans of the Aussie TV show have issued complaints that one the contestants, who are believed to be 'geeks' with a lack of experience with women, actually has a 5-year-old daughter.
A spokesperson for Channel 7 has hit back at the critics, telling The Daily Telegraph: "Their virginity or lack of wasn't an issue when casting the geeks. We were more concerned if they had a love of history rather than their dating history."
It came to light earlier this week that Storkey fathered daughter Beth after a previous relationship.
The 28-year-old PhD student said of the mother of his child: "She was the main relationship of my life after we got together when I was 18. But we split up just around the time she got pregnant and she has since married."
Storkey added that he still struggles to meet women, making him a perfect candidate for the reality show, saying: "I get so nervous I find I stutter, sweat profusely and end up looking like an idiot."
