The next season of The Real World will be set in Florida, producers have confirmed.
Filming in the Key West location is due to begin within months ahead of the show's premiere early in 2006.
"When we told potential cast members that we had chosen Key West as the location for season 17, we were met with universal cheers," said executive producer Jon Murray.
Lois Curren, evp for series entertainment at MTV, added: "Between the exciting nightlife and diverse culture of Key West, we're excited to see what storylines emerge in the new season."
Hurricane season had posed a problem for producers when selecting the venue but, according to Keys News, cast members will just have to evacuate along with the rest of the community: "If hurricane evacuations are issued for residents in the Lower Keys, they will uproot their world and leave real fast, with camera crews capturing the chaos every step of the way."
The show previously visited the sunshine state for 1996's Real World: Miami.
