Simon Cowell is considering legal action against the BBC over their plans to launch an identical show to his forthcoming ITV1 series, Star Duets.
The X Factor judge has written a letter to producers of Just The Two Of Us in an attempt to settle the matter.
Both shows will pair up well-known singers with celebrities not known for their vocal abilities, with one couple being voted off every week.
"We have written to the BBC that we have e-mail proof of when we started work. We can prove we couldn't have copied theirs," Simon is quoted by The Mirror as saying.
