NBC has given early renewals to summer reality hits America's Got Talent and Last Comic Standing, the network confirmed Friday.
Talent - created by Simon Cowell - has averaged a solid 11.3 million viewers so far, making it the number one new summer series in total viewers. The show features variety performers, ranging from jugglers to singers and dancers, competing for a $1 million top prize. Piers Morgan is among the judges.
Meanwhile, the resurrected Comic has averaged 8.2 million viewers, virtually doubling NBC's numbers in the Tuesday 9pm slot year-on-year.
"Both of these series have been bright spots on the summer television landscape," said NBC Entertainment president Kevin Reilly. "We think they'll be around for a long time."
America's Got Talent will return at midseason, while the fifth season of Last Comic Standing is planned for next summer.
