TV veteran Michael Parkinson has hit out at Sir Alan Sugar and his show The Apprentice.

Parkinson used his Radio 2 show as a platform to express his distaste at the reality TV show that sees Sugar test sixteen contestants in the business world.

After a trailer for the show, Parkinson said: "I have an aversion to that programme. I find it very distasteful.

"It's full of vulgar, loud people who, for all the wrong reasons, are dobbing each other in."

He went on to comment on Sugar himself: "When he tells someone 'You're fired' what's funny about that? You're fired. There's nothing funny about that."
