Darren Day charged with drink-driving

Darren Day has been charged with drink-driving, reports the Press Association.

The actor and singer was pulled over by police while driving through Cardiff's city centre on Wednesday morning.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "A 39-year-old man was arrested in Custom House Street at around 2am yesterday.

"He was arrested and charged with drink-driving offences and was bailed to appear before Cardiff magistrates on July 2."

Day is currently appearing in Hello, Dolly! at Cardiff's New Theatre opposite ex-EastEnders star Anita Dobson. The show's run concludes on Saturday.
