Richie asks Jackson to play wedding

Nicole Richie has asked Janet Jackson to perform at her wedding, say reports.

The socialite met Jackson at a private party in Beverly Hills, according to the Daily Star.

Richie's partner Joel Madden is reportedly unhappy with the choice of music and is unhappy his band Good Charlotte won't get to perform.

Jackson confirmed earlier this month that she will be taking part in a new MTV reality show, where she will mentor aspiring singers and dancers.
