Amy Winehouse attacked a fan at the Glastonbury festival after he insulted her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil, it was claimed today.

The singer's one-hour set on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night has made headlines for the wrong reasons due to the incident, which was captured by BBC television cameras.

Though some reports have claimed that Winehouse reacted angrily after the crowd member pulled at her beehive hairdo, one witness has now said that the altercation occurred after the unnamed man made a comment about Blake.

"Amy reacted by just losing it. She leaned into the crowd and whacked him," the onlooker told the Daily Mail. "It wasn't just a little slap, she then kind of retreated back to the stage before charging in again for another go like she was scrapping in a pub."

Winehouse had earlier scolded the crowd for booing when she mentioned Fielder-Civil, who is facing charges of GBH and perverting the course of justice.

She said: "Don't boo. I'll find your phone and ring your mum and tell them about your bad manners. Manners cost you nothing."

Police have confirmed that Winehouse will not be questioned over her behaviour.
