Accountants working for Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been told to get the couple's files in order in preparation for their divorce, it was reported today.
The instruction to the MGR firm, which deals with a number of celebrity clients, comes as part of Madonna's desire for "efficiency" as she prepares for the split.
"MGR have been warned they will have a busy time in the next few months as they go through the books," a source told The Mirror.
"They will have to prepare documents on what they own separately and what they share together so the lawyers can work out what kind of settlement they will be awarded. With the huge payout which is being banded about, the lawyers will want to go through the assets with a fine-tooth comb."
Ritchie, who reportedly wants to save the marriage, arrived in New York for a meeting with his wife yesterday. It has been suggested that an official divorce announcement could be made in November.
