Former Smiths frontman Morrissey has generated something of a "miserabilist" reputation over the years. His performance at the recent O2 Wireless Festival did little to dispel that thought after he sarcastically claimed to be "absolutely thrilled to death" about Kylie Minogue's OBE. Whatever film habits Morrissey has, they're unlikely to involve sitting down for a Julia Roberts DVD marathon. Hollywood's rom-com queen has made a career out of being upbeat and positive, something Morrissey has managed to successfully avoid.

Morrissey to... Samantha Janus - This odd couple are linked by the much-maligned Eurovision Song Contest. Morrissey's talks to perform Britain's 2007 entry fizzled out. It would've been an intriguing offering for sure, but another 'Girlfriend In A Coma' would have flatlined the UK's chances. Walford resident Sam had her first taste of fame singing in the 1991 contest. She finished in tenth place, for the record.

Samantha Janus to... Jack Dee - Remember ITV's nostalgic Dudley-based sitcom The Grimleys? Amanda Holden and Brian Conley starred as the two leads, yet things could have turned out a lot different. In the original pilot, their roles were actually played by two other well-known actors. Sam portrayed teacher Geraldine Titley while Jack Dee played the gym-dwelling Doug "Dynamo" Digby.

Jack Dee to... Shilpa Shetty - This next pair are the first and last winners of Celebrity Big Brother. The show has thrown up a few surprises over the years, the first of which was seeing grumpy comic Jack Dee walk away with the BB crown in the Comic Relief-backed debut series. The last series saw Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty emerge victorious after withstanding a barrage of abuse from Jade Goody.

Shilpa Shetty to... Richard Gere - Controversy seems to follow Shilpa wherever she goes - and it's usually through no fault of her own! The actress caused a storm in her native India last year when Richard Gere planted a kiss on her at an awards show. A court issued a warrant for Gere's arrest over the "obscene act" and the actor was later forced to give an apology. What a kafuffle!

Richard Gere to... Julia Roberts - Something that inevitably comes to mind when you think of Richard Gere is his big screen partnership with Julia Roberts. However, the Pretty Woman pairing, who later reunited for Runaway Bride, almost never came together at all. Christopher Reeve and Al Pacino were initially offered Gere's Pretty Woman part, while Daryl Hannah and Molly Ringwald turned down the Roberts role.
