Jon Voight has revealed that he is hopeful daughter Angelina Jolie will invite him to meet his new grandchildren.
Speaking during publicity rounds for his upcoming role as the new 24 villain, Voight commented: "All I can say is, just like any other father, you are very very excited. I mean, it's the most exciting thing to have new souls coming in, you know.
"There isn't anything more exciting than that, and that they are Angie's babies and Brad's."
The Oscar-winning actor had publicly fallen out with Jolie in 2002 when he called into question her mental health following her split from Billy Bob Thornton. However, the pair are thought to have since reconciled their relationship.
Voight stated that he would visit Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, who were born last weekend in France, as soon as Jolie extended an invitation.
He said: "If they call me I am going to find a way, but I haven't got the call yet, so..."
