TV presenter Melanie Sykes has separated from her husband after seven years.
The 37-year-old has sons Roman, six, and Valentino Luca, four, with Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone.
Her spokesman confirmed: "The couple have mutually agreed to separate. In the interest of their boys, they stay friends and will continue to be involved in their upbringing."
Sykes, who appeared alongside Des O’Connor in ITV1 show Today With Des And Mel until 2006, met Caltagirone when she interviewed him for Galaxy FM radio. They tied the knot in 2001.
Caltagirone is now believed to have moved out of the family home in North London, but insisted: "We are still best friends and will be for the sake of the kids."
A friend told The Sun that the couple have "grown apart", adding: "It’s very sad, there is no-one else involved."
