Jay-Z has splashed out a five-figure sum on a meal for his entourage, The Mirror reports.

The hip-hop mogul took a group of 40 to the Japanese Ithaca restaurant in Manchester following his gig at the MEN Arena at the weekend. He spent £12,000 on the night, including £600 on champagne, £100 on cognacs and £1,500 on a tip for staff.

A source said: "Jay's flunkies ordered the £52 Wagyu beef, while Jay had sea bass. He was so impressed he hired the chef to come on tour with him!"

Jay-Z recently spent $10,000 (£5,000) when dining out in Paris.
