Amy Winehouse has been discharged from hospital after receiving emergency treatment for a reaction to medication.

The troubled singer was rushed to London's University College Hospital in an ambulance yesterday evening. Her father Mitch immediately played down fears for her health, insisting that the problem was not serious. She was kept in overnight for observation as a precaution.

Amy's spokesman Chris Goodman said: "She had a bit of a scare yesterday because of a reaction to treatment. She was kept in overnight purely for observation. Amy is at home now after leaving with her father and manager. She is having a rest."

Meanwhile, a hospital spokeswoman said that the star had a "comfortable night" and was in good spirits.

Winehouse's health problems have been widely documented in the media in recent weeks. She was diagnosed with the early stages of lung condition emphysema after collapsing at her home last month. Reports have also claimed that she is suffering from heart problems as a result of her drug abuse.
