Dad claims Winehouse's drink was spiked

Amy Winehouse's recent collapse was caused by her drink being spiked by ecstasy, The Sun alleges.

Winehouse was rushed to hospital on Monday to receive treatment for a reaction to "medication". However, her father Mitch reportedly believes that a friend of the popstar dropped an ecstasy pill into her drink.

A source is quoted as saying: "Mitch is furious. He's certain someone put E in Amy's drink - and he's determined to get to the bottom of it. He is convinced that one of her hangers-on was responsible and he's waiting for a toxicology report to show what caused her to fit.

"If his suspicions are proved right, he wants someone to be punished. He is seriously unhappy about Amy's flat being a stop-over for randoms and wants an end to it."

Winehouse was discharged from University College Hospital yesterday.

The singer has been diagnosed with the early stages of lung condition emphysema. Rumours have also surfaced claiming that she is suffering from heart problems due to her drug abuse.
