Ray Winstone has confessed that he is overpowered by the women he shares a home with.
The actor, known for playing tough guy characters in films such as Sexy Beast and The Departed, told Reveal that having three daughters means he is often on the losing end of arguments.
He said: "I know my place. I'm outnumbered and out-shouted. In a showdown there's only one winner and it ain't going to be me.
"I love it, really. You've got to let these women have their way, haven't you? Whoever said that women were the weaker sex didn't know what they were talking about."
Winstone credited his wife of 30 years Elaine for giving daughters Lois, Jaime and Ellie a good upbringing.
"When Elaine wants something done, it gets done," he explained. "She doesn't have to scream and shout, because that's the way it always has been. It means that the girls are as good as gold."
