Mel B and Stephen Belafonte have reportedly agreed to renew their wedding vows after signing a £200,000 deal with a celebrity magazine.
The pair tied the knot at a secret ceremony in June 2007, but the news did not emerge in the press until two months later. Even Mel's own mother admitted that she had been left in the dark about the marriage.
Mel and Stephen are now expected to host a lavish ceremony in Egypt. Under the terms of their magazine deal, they have been told to invite a number of celebrity guests - whether they are friends or strangers.
A source told The Mirror: "Mel and Stephen wanted a lavish do to celebrate their relationship. They agreed to allow the event to be covered by a magazine but are obliged to fulfil certain requirements. One of these is a certain quota of well-known faces - family and close friends simply won't do.
"Most of her friends now are American and Mel keeps herself away from the showbiz scene in London. And she has felt slightly pressured into inviting celebs she's not actually met. But whatever happens Stephen or Mel will have a fantastic day."
Speaking about her relationship in July, Mel revealed: "I think marriage agrees with me - I'm happy all the time! We're the best of friends, which I think is one of the most important things in a successful marriage."
