Doherty dismisses Spelling slur

Shannen Doherty has shrugged off Tori Spelling's unflattering portrayal of her in her memoir.

In her autobiography sTori Telling, Spelling describes her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star as "arrogant" and a "bad influence" on set.

The pair played friends Donna Martin and Brenda Walsh respectively in the '90s teen show. Spelling pulled out of reprising her role for a forthcoming spinoff earlier this month, reportedly over a dispute over her salary.

Doherty, who recently joined the cast of the CW series, said of the book: "I didn't read it, nor would I. My friends called me and said, 'Oh, she said this and this'. Tori and I were friends, but, along the way, people grow in different directions. I did my thing, she did her thing, and that was pretty much it."

She also insisted that she has no plans for a memoir of her own, saying: "My book would be boring because I would never write about my castmates, whether I liked them or not.

"When you're working on a set, that's a sacred and private experience. It's not supposed to end up in a book for somebody to make money off."
