Oasis singer Noel Gallagher has accused US critics of having double standards regarding their reaction to Russell Brand.
The comedian's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards was deemed controversial due to his jokes about US president George W. Bush.
Speaking on Oasis's blog, the rocker commented that the routine would have gone down differently if it had come from an American comedian.
"If Chris Rock, for example, says that kind of thing, everybody laughs because they think they should, but if it's a man who's dressed up like a vampire's lampshade? Well? He was wasted on the shower of God-fearing, corporate hot-dogs anyway," he said.
Gallagher also wrote about the on-stage attack carried out against him last week.
"[I] feel like I've had a sparring session with Ricky Hatton," he wrote.
