Val Kilmer considering governor role?

Val Kilmer could follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger by becoming governor of a US state.

The Willow star, who voiced KITT in this year's Knight Rider remake, has been tipped by current governor Bill Richardson to take the hotseat when his second term ends in 2011.

Richardson commented that he believes the actor would be successful if he took a run at office.

He said: "I haven't talked to him about it, I don't know how serious he is, but you know if he jumps in a race he's got name ID, so it can't be discounted."
